Ethiopia Pardons Over 1,000 Inmates For New Year

Note: The largest prisoners of conscience are in Oromia (over 10,000). Today, OPDO released none, while Amhara regional state released 4,329 and Southern Nations regional state freed 2,366. What a shame for OPDO!

Addis Ababa, September 9, 2019 (FBC) –The Federal Attorney General said 1,087 inmates will be granted pardon in connection with the New Year

Ethiopian New Year (2012 E.C.) will start on September 12.

Among the inmates that will be given pardon include 367 inmates from Kaliti, 28 from Ziway and 439 from Shewa Robit prison centers, according to Attorney General Berhanu Tsegaye.

They will join the society as of tomorrow, he said.

In a related development, the Amhara regional state also granted pardon for 4, 329 prisoners.

About 90 out of those pardoned are women.

Similarly, the Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Regional State, pardoned 2,366 inmates

    Forget negotiation with OPDO as we attempted over several years.
    The only way to get a remedy is to remove OPDO and install ABO.

    Oromia’s churches or streets cannot sustain or support the millions of beggars Finfinne is in the process of deporting/ expelling from Finfinne.

    Oromia’s churches will not drain the limited resources just to support the beggars Finfinne is preparing to send our way.

    Dangerous journey of exile to foreign lands is not an option for most of the Finfinne maggets anymore, so the Finfinne officials are trying to dump the Finfinne maggets on Oromos, we will not accept.
