This propensity (Amharic as a second language in Oromia) will enviably pushes the Oromo language to the margin and completely chokes its growth. PP’s language policy is a colonial (of Neftanga) as a perfidious move towards the Oromo language, preservation of the Oromo identity and history. Thus, any Oromo shall fight against it at in spite of all costs by any means necessary to foil its genocidal plan (Culturally Speaking) in Oromia region.

Certainly, for me Mono-lingual approach is the only way out for the Oromia regional state to preserve its history, promote its culture, and embolden its identity. The new culture and history that has been built through the hard work of Oromo people for more than two decades will not go in vain brusquely.

D) Sabboonummaa Oromoo Laamshessa/ It Paralyses Oromo Nationalism

Opposing PP’s Language policy for Oromo is not a choice for it is a question of survival, preservation of our own identity and history entrenched on a new system at the Oromiya regional state for the last three decades. As an Oromo nation we had endured myriad defies and survived all the naftenya’s system of annihilation against our culture, dignity, identity, language and property (Land) in all its forms. Today, the Oromo people can clearly identify what is good and evil for its existence as a nation at this age of QEERROO and QARREEs’ avant-gardism. Any political system or ideology which dares to reverse or deracinate what has been built by Oromo people in the last three decades will never make it.

The need for establishing a culture of democracy and democratic institutions via a constitutional order at every level of administration is not a choice for the Ethiopian government. A notion of democracy is the rule of people by people where the legitimacy of the ruler is derived from the populace. Given the veracities on the ground, the current Ethiopian government is becoming tyrannical and assiduously working against the rudimentary tenets of democracy. Vicissitudes in Ethiopian politics is also taking a wrong turn. The moment the government fails to listen to the voices of the horde and does anything by disregarding their demand for freedom and democracy, that is the moment democracy starts dying. The contrary is also true.

The current transition (Opposition parties or Activists’ naming) in Ethiopian politics is achieved through unimaginable human loss and property damages to a human kind (Largely for the Oromo People). It (transition) was also hoped by many as assurance to efficacious transition to democracy. However, the ruling government’s wishy washy have never dispensed those profound grumbles of the Oromo peoples and their quest for substantive and formal equality and their right place in the Ethiopian politics that had been dominated by minority tyranny for centuries.

EPRDF’s coalition parties merger and formation of a brand new party (Prosperity Party) with its language policy (Plan to uphold Neftenya’s colonial rule) is a stark illustration of a colossal attack on Oromo language, culture, self-autonomy and multicultural federation at large. This gives PP (the Unionist camp) a symbolic victory over the federalists. This kind of attack on the constitutionally entrenched language policy is a clear depiction of anarchy on the rise and a blatant subversion of constitutional order by force. The Oromo people are legally (by both the Federal and Oromia regional state Constitution) entitled to bring a legal action againt the PP’s move towards the Oromia region for its (PP) act is devoid of any legitimacy and encroaching up on the regions right to self-government.

On top of that, the daunting story of disappearance and loss of life with no accountability from the government side is a treacherous signs that it is leading to a complete lawlessness. The absence of proper investigation and prosecution of suspected criminals; makes the Ethiopian government more of an accomplice rather than a guardian of human rights. This aspect of governance and obtuse justice delivery will also entirely erodes the hope for a thriving democracy and rebuff Ethiopia as an evolving democracy. What will be the primary responsibility of the government other than ensuring the safety and security of its own citizens? NONE!
