Is Ethiopia’s Tigray region about to break away?

Aljazeera, Inside Story | October 5, 2020

Leaders in the northern region of Tigray warn they will stop recognizing the federal government in Addis Ababa.

Leaders of Ethiopia’s Tigray region are stepping up their feud with the federal government led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

They say they will no longer recognize the administration in the capital, Addis Ababa, or its laws.

The warning came after the electoral commission delayed elections due in August because of the coronavirus emergency.

Tigray defied the federal government’s postponement order and went ahead with local elections, a move Abiy called “illegal”.

The argument is raising concerns Tigray’s leaders are laying the groundwork for the creation of a breakaway state.

  1. Military helicopters were circling the dam by flying close to the ground at night time on this past Sunday night. These helicopters resembled the same identical Ethiopian military government helicopters seen shooting and massacring at least seven hundred people at the Irecchha day celebration event in Bishoftu , Ethiopia on October the 2nd 2020.

Very few Ethiopians and two of their YECHIN GERED Chinese were near the dam at the time these helicopters first appeared at the GERD, all of the people claimed to quickly hid fearing to being targeted by the helicopters so no death or shooting is reported. So far no official explanation is given why the helicopters were present even though leaked insderi formation from Tigray suggested that these helicopters were sent by the Tigray military to show off that the Tigray military is so advanced, flying below radar sattelite without being detected by the federal military or other regional security apparatuses .
